“Mayor, I have a question for you...” Said Lelo Vega as he stepped closer to the flustered mayor as he, Marcus, Klaus, and Patrick and the mayor stood near the amtrak train station.
“That day when we all came to visit you in your office, we came across a mysterious man inside of the building, someone that you were afraid of.” The mayor’s face became uneasy again, as if Lelo Vega just happened to figure out something that he shouldn't something that the mayor wanted to remain a secret.
“Mayor, have you been honest with us the entire time?” Lelo interrogated further.
“Y-yes, th-the entire time.”
Lelo’s face remained unconvinced. Mayor Charles P. Twarld was now feeling cornered. He hired Lelo and the others for an investigation, but now he seemed to be the one being interrogated. “Bernie...” Marcus said, grabbing the Waltzer’s attention. “What do you know about the mayor and Matthew Crawley?” He said, interrogating Bernie in the way Lelo was interrogating Mayor Twarld.“Wha? Nothing, All I am is just a Waltzer that was hired to protect the mayor after being security in Matthew Crawley’s stronghold.” He quipped. “Ah, so you've worked for Matthew Crawley, eh?” Said Lelo, shifting his interest to the shaken Waltzer. “Am I? Am going to die?” Said Bernie who looked like he was going to beg for his life after hearing such a fate. “No, Bernie you won't die here.” Said Lelo with assurance. “We just need you to tell us about Matthew Crawley and his whereabouts... After I finish asking mayor Twarld a few more questions.” His interest shifted back to Charles P. Twarld with the end of the last sentence that he spoke.
“Mayor, who was this guy in your building?” Lelo pushed further as the the rest of the team surrounded the mayor huddle-style. Mayor Twarld started to breathe heavy, and spoke slowly.
“You know him... You know him, don’t make me say it!”.
“Crawley... Walter Crawley...” Said Lelo with a sigh.
Twarld looked like he was recovering from relieving the biggest load off his shoulders. “And now you want us to kill his son, why?” Said Lelo. “He... he said some words to me that I didn't like. His language was something that I did not approve of.” Spoke Mayor Twarld, whose voice was now just above a whisper.
“Words? He contacted me simply for words that someone said to him???” Thought Lelo.
“We nearly died fighting off a gorilla on the train on the way over here, it was over something that someone said to him? That doesn’t sound like justice... It almost sounds like a hit... I’m not a hitman, I’m an undercover cop. I don’t kill unless it’s in the name of justice.... I don’t like where this is going.” Lelo’s glare could burn a hole in the mayor’s face. “Still, he’s not giving up any real information about Matthew Crawley and why we must kill him... So I can’t really say if we’ve come here for shallow reasons.” Lelo’s head turned away from the mayor, and the latter felt like he just dodged a bullet with his name on it. “Okay team. We couldn’t persuade Bob Vister, the vice president of the fighting phils to assist us with weaponry, so we’ll have to take our chances and head out to the red church.” Lelo said to the rest of the team as if they were some type of militia and he was the leader. “I imagine that Matthew Crawley will have plenty of Waltzers wherever he goes, so it’s best that we’re prepared.” He said.
“Well, it’s as heavily armed as you could expect for a guy of importance like Matthew Crawley. That place is loaded with security.” said Bernie.
“What would you recommend as firepower?” asked Lelo.
“I... I can't really say. I haven’t worked there in years, so I can’t imagine what type of weaponry and armor that the security has currently. We don't receive that kind of information from the outside.”
“What do you remember from your time there? How long were you there anyway?” said Lelo.
“What’s with all these questions? I feel like I’m a suspect here.” said Bernie, defending himself slightly.
“No, you’re not a suspect, Bernie. I’m just trying to gather up as much information as I can about Matthew Crawley and his whereabouts so that I can get to the bottom of this.” Lelo said with an unfittingly calm voice. “The mayor contacted me to put Matthew Crawley to a permanent end, and I accepted his offer. I’ve got three more individuals with me, and all of them are looking for a pay day. We’ve been in scenario after scenario ever since we’ve reached Milwaukee, and there’s no way we’re all going to let it be in vain. I’m an investigator, but I’ve been in encounters comparable to that of a mercenary. Maybe it’s my fault that everything happened the way it did. The Waltzer we had to kill for Eugene Gumble, the assistance from the Fighting Phils that we never got, the train ride with the gorilla that nearly ended us all... I know this isn’t exactly the type of life that the rest of you are used to. It’s been a wild ride for me as well. But the mayor contacted me to carry out justice, and that’s what I plan on doing. When we find Matthew Crawley, I’m going to find out why he’s the mayor’s target. I’m going to find out why we’ve gone through everything that we’ve have today. I’ll do anything that’s necessary to seek justice and if that means kill Matthew Crawley, so be it. We don’t need Bob Vister or anyone else at this point. We’ve made it this far... Once this is all said and done, we’ll find out the truth about Matthew Crawley... And the truth about Charles P. Twarld.” Lelo looked in the direction of Mayor Twarld, who looked as if he was going to have a trembling fit. “Regardless of whatever happens, I vow that on this day, justice will be served.”
“Y-Yes Lelo?” the mayor stammered.
“That day when we all came to visit you in your office, we came across a mysterious man inside of the building, someone that you were afraid of.” The mayor’s face became uneasy again, as if Lelo Vega just happened to figure out something that he shouldn't something that the mayor wanted to remain a secret.
